Rolls-Royce’s data innovation team, R2 Data Labs, has launched a new certified Agile practitioner training course, stepping up its efforts to help companies and employees around the world prepare for a more digital future after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The free-to-access Helping You Prepare programme that launched in May 2020, has seen more than 24,000 subscribers take advantage of the world-class digital training that Rolls-Royce uses for its own digital transformation.

Now, R2 Data Labs is launching a new six-week Agile practitioner course with pre-enrolment open from today on https://www.edx.org/course/agile-practitioner

The six-week-long massive open online course (MOOC) starts on November 7th with the content freely accessible for anyone to benefit. CPD accredited points, graded assessments, discussions with expert coaches about real-world scenarios and membership in the Rolls-Royce Agile community are part of a new optional paid-for package. The course will be accessed via leading training partner edX, and the first 100 verified certificate learners can get a 20% discount on the paid-for package using the code: “R2DLAGILE20”.

Manisha Mistry, Head of Digital Culture at Rolls-Royce, said: “More than 24,000 have enrolled in our free courses since we launched our Helping you Prepare campaign in May. Agile skills have been incredibly popular and people have told us that they want more content that is practically applicable in their industry settings. This course is designed for Agile practitioners by Agile practitioners and the timing means participants could start 2021 fully certified as agile trained and ready to go.

“This course builds on our experience of applying agile skills as a key part of Rolls-Royce’s mission to be the world’s leading industrial technology company. We think this course can really help people and businesses who want to develop a digital culture and an agile mindset to improve their opportunities.”

The course content includes video tutorials, interviews, multiple assessments and case studies, while the paid-for learning experience includes accreditation, access to expert coaches, graded assessments and networking opportunities. In some countries, participants can seek subsidies from professional learning programmes, or have the course paid for entirely by their employers.

The course follows two characters, Roman and Maria, as they start their journey into agile. Each week, the course builds in complexity and competency and includes real-life scenarios based on experience to bring to life the agile theory.
