AIRLINK LAUNCHES NEW WEST- COAST ROUTE CONNECTING CAPE TOWN WITH WALVIS BAY

Airlink, the privately-owned regional airline, will launch a convenient new direct service between Cape Town and Walvis Bay, commencing on 02 March 2021.

 

The new route is Airlink’s third between South Africa and Namibia, with other services linking Cape Town and Windhoek in addition to flights from Johannesburg to Windhoek and Walvis Bay.

 

“This new service is ideal for business and leisure travellers with the port city of Walvis Bay is an important economic hub and gateway to some of Namibia’s prized tourist destinations, including the Namib Desert, Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast.   Walvis Bay, Langstrand and Swakopmund are also home to a significant community of people who commute between Namibia and South Africa,” explained Airlink CEO, Rodger Foster.

 

The route will also enable seamless multi-city travel itineraries for international and local tourists visiting popular destinations in Namibia and South Africa.

 

Airlink will operate the following weekday flights between Cape Town and Walvis Bay on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays:

 

4Z 382  departing Cape Town at 14h00, arriving at Walvis Bay at 16h15

4Z 383  departing Walvis Bay at 16h50, arriving at Cape Town at 19h00

COVID-19 Health and Safety onboard Airlink flights 

During these stressful times, health and safety – yours and ours – remains our primary concern.  Our aircraft are equipped with High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filters (HEPA), which are effective at blocking 99.97% of particulates, including Coronavirus molecules.  These HEPA filters continually sterilize the air in our cabins, which is renewed entirely every three minutes.

Namibia and South African Biosecurity and Travel regulations

Please check with the appropriate Namibian government authority for the latest regulations for travel from and returning to Namibia.

South Africa has introduced additional measures for international travellers arriving in the country.  Click here for information on these requirements.  Please note that all arriving travellers are now required to provide a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test certificate, issued by an accredited laboratory in line with World Health Organisation standards, no more than 72 hours before the date of travel.   South African Authorities reserve the right to verify the authenticity of presented PCR test certificates. South Africa also recommend visitors to carry valid travel insurance policies.
